The goal of this project is to implement a bidirectional signaling and media gateway for Presence, Instant Messaging including multi-party chat, Audio, Video and File Transfer between SIP and XMPP protocols. This research and development project is part of the WormHole Project sponsored by [http://nlnet.nl/project/xmpp-sip/ NLNet and AG Projects].

== Deployment Scenario ==
By simply pointing the correspondent DNS records for corespondent to the SIP and XMPP services service to the address of where the gateway, gateway listens to, any packet sent to or connection established to that enters the gateway by one of the protocols is transparently translated into the other.
